Classwork for 28 August
Hi guys,
I am on MC today.
Please work in your groups for next week's performance task.
Make sure that your article is well developed by this point and does not exceed 600 words (minimum 450). Remember it must be centered around a controversy and have well-established viewpoints from different points of view in your topic area.
Also, as you develop your newscast, keep in mind the scoring rubric that will be used and make sure your work is developed around those specific criteria. Your newscast should be done like the last one, but this time only focuses on the one main story your group has chosen.
Thanks and have a good Wednesday.
Mr. Arrowood
PS- If your group has finished (which I don't think is the case for most of you), then do Task 2 from the handouts I gave you yesterday.

Please write an EXPOSITORY essay (350-500 words) during class today and turn it in at the end of class.
Here is the prompt: Rainy days bring out our emotions and can bring on many feelings and memories. Think about what you do on rainy days.
Do you enjoy rainy days or dislike them? Write a paper explaining several reasons why you like or dislike rainy days.
(Remember to use specific details to support and explain your reasons. Use interesting adjectives and descriptions to make your paper interesting to read.)

Classwork for 12 August...
Hey guys, I am on MC today.
Please do "step 4" from your worksheet on expository writing. You did the planning phase during the last class.
STEP 4: APPLICATION OF SKILL
Consider the question below.
People all over the world are living longer. What are the advantages and disadvantages of their increased life expectancy?
Using the points that you have come up with, craft an essay that supports your argument.
You have the entire class to plan and write your 350-500 word essay. Please turn these in to the teacher at the end of class for me to look at tomorrow.
Thanks,
Mr Arrowood
