Individual Reflection (Ben Cheong 5)

Do you ever find yourself speaking up to soon?
Yes, I do find myself speaking up too soon.

If so, how can you clear your mind to fully listen?
We have to pay attention to what other people is saying and clear our minds of other factors that we are thinking of saying even before the other person finish talking.

Do you ever find yourself wanting to jump in because you are eager to share?
Yes.

How can you channel your excitement into listening and wait for the proper opportunity to share?
We can try to focus on the topic at hand, and pay proper attention to the speaker, also picking up the important points. We can also exercise self control.

What else can you do to prepare for conversations with others?
We can constantly remind ourselves of what the topic is.

Can we ask them up front what they are looking for?
No.

How does it make you feel to be cut off in the middle of your thought?
I will lose my train of thought.
